Brownfield Redevelopment

Brownfield properties are vacant or underutilized places where past industrial or commercial activities may have left contamination (chemical pollution) behind, including factories, gas stations and waterfront properties (port lands) formerly used for industrial or commercial activities.  Brownfields can be redeveloped to meet environmental standards, change land use designations and improve property value.  Our Qualified Persons (QPs) will help you:

  • Assess the environmental condition of a property through a Phase One or Phase Two Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)
  • Identify Remediation Options
  • Manage remediation work
  • Ensure that your property meets the applicable site condition standards or standards specified in a risk assessment
  • Submit a Record of Site Condition (RSC) for filing in Ontario’s Environmental Site Registry
  • Qualify for the Brownfields tax incentive program (BFTIP)
